TVS Creon Electric Scooter | Launch Date in Nepal | Estimated Price in Nepal

Times change, the environment changes, and technology changes. The latest advancement in automobile technology that has made it to the streets is electric vehicles. As buyers become more conscious of the effects on their two wheelers on the environment, more and more buyers opt for electric bikes and scooters everyday.

As such, established manufacturers are incentivised to enter the market for electric scooters in Nepal—to see why electric bikes don’t get as much attention, look here. The latest entry into the electric scooter market in Nepal is rumored to be TVS with the recently spotted Creon electric scooter.

The TVS Creon concept was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in India. In comparison to the TVS iQube—TVS’s only electric scooter officially available as of now–, the Creon electric scooter is expected to boast a more sporty and maxi-like appearance and performance.

TVS Creon Electric Scooter Overview

The Creon concept was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, India. Back then, the concept scooter was equipped with a triple battery pack that generated 12 kiloWatts of power with a claimed range of 80 kilometers and a 0 to 60 kmph of 5.1 seconds. In comparison, the Yatri Project One has a peak power of 14 kiloWatts and a claimed range of 110 kilometers.

Recently a test scooter that looked eerily similar to the TVS Creon was spotted on the streets of Bengaluru, India; prompting the thought that there could be a launch soon.

If the TVS Creon electric scooter were to be released in Nepal, it—along with the iQube if released here too—would not just be just another electric scooter to choose from, but one from a reputable brand that’s known for making good scooters—the TVS Jupiter and the recent TVS Ntorq.

Many new buyers would most likely switch from brands like Yaeda, Segway, and TailG to TVS once the Creon makes it to the streets. The new entrant will make the market for electric scooters in Nepal more competitive, leading to a drive for better performance and features between brands—pun not intended.

Here is what you can expect from the design of the TVS Creon electric scooter in Nepal.

TVS Creon Electric Scooter: Design and Feature Highlights

The TVS Creon electric scooter is the second electric scooter to come out of TVS. As of now, the TVS iQube is the only available electric scooter from TVS in India.

In comparison to the iQube, the TVS Creon concept boasted a more aggressive and sporty design, akin to that of a maxi-scooter. The central vertical headlamp, the almost horizontally aligned rear suspension, and the fully digital instrument cluster give the TVS Creon a futuristic design.

The highlight features of the TVS Creon electric scooter are:

  • Bulky and angular design
  • Vertical bar headlamp
  • Large LCD instrument cluster showcased to have:
    • Navigation
    • Remaining range
    • Total distance driven
    • Total trip distance

Even without the lights and the screen, just the shape of the scooter alone is enough to make someone think it came out of Tron.

As for the body, here is what the TVS Creon electric scooter has to offer in terms of brakes, tires, and suspension.

TVS Creon Electric Scooter: Brakes, Tires, and Suspension

Since the TVS Creon electric scooter hasn’t been officially released to the general public, what features the scooter does or doesn’t come with can only be called educated assumptions. A calculated guess.

That being said, the Auto Expo in 2018 also gave us a couple details to go by.

The Brake, Tires, and Suspension specifications of the TVS Creon scooter are:

  • Front Tyre: Tubeless with Disc Brakes
  • Rear Tyre: Tubeless with Disc Brakes
  • ABS Modes: Unreleased.
  • Front Suspension: Unreleased
  • Rear Suspension: Unreleased
  • Wheel Type: Unreleased

As you can see, most of the body specifications are still in the air. As for the ABS, the TVS Creon concept showcased at the Auto Expo in 2018 did feature an ABS sticker on the front mud guard.

Alas, unless more sightings are made of the TVS Creon electric scooter on the streets, we’re left hanging.

However, moving on to the heart of the matter, here is what the TVS Creon electric scooter has to offer in terms of performance from its battery powered motors.

TVS Creon Electric Scooter: Motor and Battery Specifications

Perhaps the most important part of the TVS Creon electric scooter in Nepal might be the engine/motor, and how much power it can put out compared to the competition; because as much as brand value matters, if TVS cannot compete with pre-existing electric scooters, the sales will still look the same.

With that being said…

The motor specifications of the TVS Creon electric scooter are:

  • Battery Type: Lithium Ion
  • Range: 80 Kilometers, claimed.
  • Engine Type: Electric motor
  • Displacement/Power: 12 kiloWatts
  • Battery Capacity: 10 Ah, reported.

Of course, these claims are very under-whelming, but we also have to keep in mind that the concept that these numbers are based on was released in 2018—when the competitive landscape was much different. But given that there are no official claims to go by, this is the best we can do for now.

However, when the TVS Creon electric scooter does reach the market, we assume the specifications will be updated to meet the competition that has developed since the announcement of the concept Creon in 2018.

TVS Creon Electric Scooter: Launch Date and Price in Nepal

The TVS Creon electric scooter is expected to cost around 4 to 5 Lakh Rupees in Nepal when it comes out—possibly in the following year.

Based on the customs tax rates on electric vehicles in Nepal, and the general trends between prices in India and Nepal, we can expect the launch price of the TVS Creon electric scooter in Nepal to be around 4 to 5 Lakh Rupees—putting it just in line with most of the electric scooters in Nepal that are considered to be the best.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if and when the TVS Creon electric scooter makes its way into the Nepali market, we can expect there to be a change in the competitive landscape since TVS brings the unique selling point of being a trusted and long running brand to the market.

Most customers that not just want a reliable electric scooter to get them to and from work but also make them feel like they are riding a machine will decide on the TVS Creon electric scooter due to its bold design.

Will you buy the TVS Creon?
