FI Engine System

Today's two-wheelers are expected to be matted with a feature that cannot be overlooked; Fuel Injection Engine. This engine staple has made a significant requirement that is a necessity in any two-wheeler. The Fuel Injection (FI) is a leading engine technology that has proven itself to be the best option and is swiftly replacing the usual carburetor engines. The FI engine is a fuel efficient and fuel saving giant, consequently saving the extra cost on regular fuel refills. Due to its dual benefits to the engine as well as the owners pockets, it is really preferred and liked by many two-wheeler users now-a-days. Getting into the details of the functionality of the fuel injection engine, we can list it down as such:

- The FI system consists of fuel injectors and a fuel pump. A simple throttle activates the pump,
transfering the fuel to the injectors. Then, the injectors inject the fuel into the combustion
chamber.
- Meaning it injects atomized fuel through small nozzles of injectors working under high pressure
generated from its pump.
- In comparison to a carburetor engine, it is less reactive to environmental constraints such as the
climate, humidity and more.
- It is relatively easier to start and accelerate with very less throttle power in any given condition.
- Fuel efficiency being at the top priority list, it is able to give an average of over 14% more mileage
than a normal carburetor engine.
- The overall performance of the two-wheeler is actually better and smoother.
- Fewer fuel used is fewer emissions from the two-wheeler. The FI engine promotes and effectively controls and limits the emission standard for a better engine life.
Yamaha is the very first two-wheeler company to introduce the FI system to its bikes and scooters. Mastering this technology for over a decade, Yamaha has set a revolutionary example. In the current scenario, almost every two-wheeler is equipped with the FI Engine, saving extra costs, saving engine life and saving the environment.

Restarting Drowned Two Wheeler

The current monsoon roads of the valley are a tragic site to see. The roads and alleys filled with brown rainwater and clogged drainage systems causing the roads to flood and no way for the water to escape. Road side parking traditions have never been affected by any catastrophe but now the two-wheelers parked on these flooded roads face a major issue on their engines and batteries. Being submerged in these flooded roads the major electrical and functional part of the two-wheelers are heavily hampered due to direct contact with water. Firstly, to prevent this from happening, it is better to park in designated shady and dry areas, but if this situation occurs anyways, below we have listed some immediate solutions for your flooded two-wheeler.

1. DO NOT START/ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE
- Once you recognize the vehicle is flooded, do not try to immediately accelerate or give ignition to the engine. The water may enter the two-wheelers electrical system, exhaust, brakes, the engine and other functional units, when tried to accelerate. It will be wise to manually drag the bike/scooter out of the water source to somewhere dry and let it sit on a double stand for at least 10-15 minutes.

2. DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICALS
- As soon as the vehicle is left to rest in a dry area, the electricals must be disconnected, specially the battery connectivities. The tech-savvy two-wheelers nowadays may have automatic and running electricals, so to prevent short circuits and battery failure, the connecting wires must be detached.

3. REMOVE THE SPARK PLUG
- One of the most essential things to do in this situation is to remove the spark plug. If the wet spark plugs are left unattended for a long period of time it will be difficult to remove it after the mud from the muddy water solidifies and eventually the threads of the spark plug corrodes.

4. LET IT REST
- In the case of a gearless scooter, it is best to let the vehicle rest in a dry place without accelerating it. The belt cover on these gearless scooters may collect the water, so to get rid of it, simply the two-wheeler must be taken to a dry and shady place and let it sit for a good 10-15 minutes, which will automatically drain the water itself . After this a gentle acceleration and ignition will automatically start the scooter as normal.

The above mentioned tips are just an immediate response to the flooded vehiclesand it is wise to take the drowned vehicle to a professional mechanic who knows the vehicle and its engine better than us.

Apache Race Mode | ABS Work Rate

Sports Mode: When the bike is on sports mode, it generates maximum power alongside, at the first throttle twist the engine gives out sharp acceleration and launches high-speed and high-thrust. In this mode the engine generates 17.55 PS @ 9250 rpm of power and 14.73 Nm @ 7250 rpm of torque. The engine showcases its peak performance in this mode which is ideal for racing. Its maximum speed is 114kmph. The ABS braking system is also optimized so the rider can have full control over the bike.

Urban and Rain Mode: Urban mode is made for quick acceleration and deceleration on normal highways and roads. It is the best mode to maneuver around the city and the ABS is made even sharper for quicker response. Whereas, the Rain mode is equipped to make the bike go through harsh conditions, keeping the racing performance intact. The ABS performs at its peak in this mode. Both modes generate 15.64 PS @ 8600 rpm of power and 14.14 Nm @ 7250 rpm of torque. Their max speed is 103kmph.

The GTT (Glide Through Technology) makes the bike able to smoothly move without the need to hold on to the clutch. RTR 160 4V is the best for racing and speeding, but with the addition GTT it is also good for low speed city rides and traffic jams.
