APRILIA SR 150 BEAST OF SCOOTERS

As stated by this powerful hashtag, this machine has got the comfort of a simple scooter incorporated with the powerful racing DNA with its 150 CC engine. Presenting to you; Aprilia’s SR 150. It screams bold through its design and the high speed has definitely made it one of the most loved scooters of Nepal.

ENGINE 

The 154.8 CC, four stroke engine is an improved version of the Vespa 150 engine. It is highly tuned for better performance and feels nothing like a Vespa, but more than that. Its power runs at 10.19PS @ 6750 rpm and talking about its torque it has got 10.90 NM @ 5000 rpm, with CBT automatic transmission which helps to set its top speed at 110 km/h,  making it one of the fastest scooters in town. It goes from 0-60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and easily goes beyond 80+ speed. This unbeatable power is something that every two wheeler enthusiast must experience.

BODY

As one can see it’s one the most beautiful crossover scooters that is available in Nepal. With its unique racer design and RS GB graphics covering the entire scooter, this makes it one of the most sleek looking scooters. The twin headlamp arrangement along with the sporty tail lamp at the end makes the scooter have that aggressive and crisp appearance which definitely is a plus point for the overall look. 

FEATURES

The kerb weight of Aprilia SR 150 is 122 kgs. This scooter has a ground clearance of 160mm and a seat height of 780mm. The 14 inch, 5 spoke alloy wheel and 120/70 section wide tyres placed in the scooter makes the riding experience very smooth and comfortable even on the bumpy roads of Nepal. Supporting these larger wheels there is a compatible braking system built for the scooter. At the front, the scooter comes with a hydraulic disc braking system with 220mm disk and double piston caliper assembly. The rear setup is drum type and that comes with a 140mm drum brake setup. Here in the 2019 version the scooter also comes with ABS enhancement in the front braking setup. The telescopic suspension on the front and a monoshock on the rear gives it a sporty stance, thus it is comparatively easier to handle and wander in the off road terrain. 

OVERVIEW

The compartment is midsized, consequently just a helmet and some handy things can only be adjusted. This underseat storage consists of a USB port which can be really useful during times of emergency and lengthier travels. The fuel capacity is a whopping 6.5 liters, which will definitely give the rider that extra range for long rides and edge over other scooters, with a mileage of 35 kmpl.

We've all swooned over the SR 150's looks for a while, and now it's finally time to ride it and see if it does justice to the Aprilia brand.
