Yamaha Aerox 155 In Nepal; Price, Specifications, and Availability.

With a lineup of commuters to get you to work as well as sport bikes fast enough to blow your socks off, Yamaha has something for everyone’s taste.

However, over the years, a niche that Yamaha was yet to fulfil was the performance scooter lineup. At 125ccs, the RayZR might’ve overtaken its competitors, but it still left a lot to be desired. What about those who wanted more speed? Those who wanted to race the scooters and the bikes as well?

With the release of the Yamaha Aerox 115 in Nepal at the price of Rs. 474,900, buyers have just the right thing! While buyers had to wait longer than the promised launch of the Aerox at the later-cancelled NADA Auto Show 2022, the Yamaha Aerox 155 is now entering the Nepali market with full force.

Yamaha Aerox 155, a maxi-scooter with the heart of a racer—a BS6 engine directly from the Yamaha R15, capable of reaching speeds of 120 kilometres per hour, with a claimed mileage of 45 kilometres per litre.

Yamaha Aerox 155 Overview

The major highlight of the Aerox 155 is the engine straight from the R15. It is almost unbelievable that Yamaha’s maxi scooter houses the pure-bred engine from one of the most recognizable bikes in Nepal. The Aerox is bound to turn just as many heads when it speeds past traffic.

Along with the performance, the bulky Aerox is also filled to the brim with looks and features that scream performance.

A glance at the design is enough to tell how sporty the Aerox is going to be—even the side lights integrated into the body add to the sporty look. The Aerox’s athletic proportions and the styling of the headlights are few and far between on the roads.

In the driver’s vision lies an all-digital blue instrument cluster. The tachometer, odometer, fuel, and battery gauge, and notifications from the Bluetooth connection are all placed neatly on the screen in a layout that looks straight out of a MotoGP bike.

From design and usability to pure performance and price, here is a quick and simple overview of what the Aerox 155 has to bring to the Nepali market.

Yamaha Aerox 155 Price in Nepal

The maxi scooter Aerox 155 by Yamaha comes at the steep cost of Rs. 474,900. Even though it easily costs a decent chunk more than its competitors, the price to performance ratio is somewhat justifiable-albeit, while the Aerox nears the price of the Yamaha R15, where it gets its engine from, perhaps it doesn’t perform to the same level to demand such a price.

But let’s face it, the people who are going to buy the Aerox 155 won’t be buying it for its price to performance ratio. They’ll be buying it because the Aerox can smoke just about every scooter there is on the road, and even a bunch of bikes.

You’re not going to find another scooter with the engine of a flagship bike.

But while the Aerox packs the same engine as the R15, the automatic transmission makes the ride much smoother. Riders can enjoy the power of the sporty engine capable of hitting speeds of 120 kmph without worrying about having to shift gears in traffic and on inclines constantly.

The fuel injection on the Aerox also lets riders be carefree about prepping the scooter before a ride.

The fuel tank might leave a bit to be desired with its 5.5-liter capacity. The 48 kmpl mileage isn’t disappointing by any means but refuelling might be an issue for some—let’s face it, you’re not going to get 48 kmpl if you’re driving it beyond the economy, and there is no fun riding an engine of this calibre in the economy.

The style

The Yamaha Aerox is one of the few maxi scooters in Nepal. As such, it is bound to catch the eyes of others. If that weren’t enough, the Aerox 155 also styles a stunning design that screams performance.

The LED headlamp and integrated DRLs are reminiscent of the R series of Yamaha sport bikes, the blue instrument cluster is jam-packed with performance and mileage indicators, and—packing in the engine from the R15—the size of the Aerox 155 alone demands respect on the streets.
