But, as we’ve been taught since the very beginning, Nepal has a lot more to offer than paved city roads, especially outside the boundaries of the capital. That is where adventure bikes come in. Built for the off-road, adventure bikes throw convention out the window and give riders a machine that lets them really experience what the terrain in Nepal has to provide. Year after year, the number of two wheelers in the Nepali market keeps increasing as younger people buy their first bikes and older people start switching to newer ones from bike showrooms, especially across Kathmandu, every season. Back in 2020, the total number of registered two wheelers alone in Nepal was over 20 million, a number which has only increased since then. In the process, tons of people have entered top 12 bike showrooms in Kathmandu everyday in search of a machine that will be with them for the next 5 to 6 years. Walking into a showroom, getting a feel for the bikes, and talking to the representatives is all part of the experience of owning a bike. How you feel about the showroom reflects the service you and your bike will be receiving over the course of your ownership. Hence, it is paramount that you choose the right showroom to buy from, and not just the right bike to buy.

For the longest time, TVS has been known for its lineup of RTR bikes, and perhaps recently the Ntorq, in the Nepali market. Like most manufacturers, TVS has stayed firmly within the confines of the commuter and performance segment. However, this time round, TVS has something entirely different to offer. A Cruiser. Yes, TVS, the same company behind the scooter your mom rides, will also be bringing the TVS Ronin 225, a cruiser with a stunning design and a powerful engine, to the Nepali market. The TVS Ronin 225 was first announced in July of 2022, in India; at the price of Rs. 168,750 (Indian Rupees) for the highest specced model (the focus of this article). As for the Nepali market, an official price hasn’t been announced yet. However, using previous prices from TVS, we can expect the TVS Ronin 225 to enter the Nepali market at around 6 Lakh Nepali Rupees.

In the Nepali market so far, Suzuki is known for its sporty bikes from the Gixxer series, and the stand-out two wheelers like the 125cc Burgman and the bold 150cc Intruder. While their product lineup is very well reviewed, it only extends to a few two wheelers. The newest scooter from Suzuki—the Avenis— might be half a year old, but Suzuki hasn’t launched a new bike in Nepal for a couple years now. As such, Suzuki is rumoured to bring a new product into the Nepali market, one built for adventure on the off-road and power: The Suzuki V Strom 250 SX.
