The entirety of the scooter's body is built using fiber plastic, which makes it the lightest scooter in its segment. Being the lightest it also holds records in having the fastest pickup, highest mileage and sturdiness. This scooter has air cooled, FI (fuel injected) engine with a BS-VI complaint similar to the yamaha fascino 125 FI, that most scooters of the segment have today. The smart motor generator, start and stop systems and the side stand engine cut off are some attributes that yamaha scooters have and are really useful to keep the engine healthy and running. The start stop system is really helpful when one is stuck in traffic jams. When the scooter comes to a halt, within a few seconds the engine automatically turns off, which helps one save some extra liters of fuel. To start, simply twisting the throttle is enough to quickly fire up the engine.

PERFORMANCE

It generates a max power of 8.2 PS @6500 RPM and a max torque of 9.7 NM @5000 RPM. Its top speed can go upto 80 kmph. These attributes show the power this scooter has even though being the lightest in the segment. The performance highlights are shown by the mileage and pickup this scooter provides in its segment. Yamaha has been supporting Kathmandu in the Nepal super league which resonates Street Rally’s proposition; Champion of power and champion of mileage. Street Rally’s another unique selling point includes the fastest pickup of the segment, which goes from 0 to 60 km in just 7.59 seconds.

FEATURES

This scooter has an improved unified braking system (UBS) along with an upgraded suspension setup with front telescopic forks and rear swing arm. The UBS supports an equal amount of brake applied to both the brakes on the front and rear tyres, which therefore makes it really suitable for the road conditions prevalent in Nepal. The Halogen headlight and tail lamp are illuminating enough to make the night rides more safe and smooth.

Off-roading in this scooter will be hassle free with the ground clearance of 145 mm and very comfortable with the soft cushioned seats at a height of 785 mm, which comes with a two level seating adjustment option. Fuel tank capacity is stated at 5.2 liters, regardless, it is the segment’s best mileage scooter. It comes with 21 liter under seat storage capacity and USB charging ports have been adjusted into it, but the scooter lacks ample legroom for the rider which may cause difficulty in lengthier travels.

Pro and Cons For E-bikes

Electric Vehicles are the future of this ever evolving globe. The new potential buyers of EV’s are rigorously increasing day by day, with a very high growth prospect. Looking at the sky rocketing fuel prices and alarming pollution level concerns all around the world, people have been jumping through the range of purchase decisions and options. Electric vehicles have had their share of buyers' contemplation over what to purchase, why to purchase, the beneficial attributes of the purchase and more. There are some visible pros and cons of an Electric Vehicle that may be a guideline to the ones looking through the possible options.

PROS:
The paramount of gains in opting to purchase an Electric Vehicle include incurring low operation costs. An electric two wheeler claims to save upto Rs.5000 on monthly fuel cost on an average. Supporting the low cost streak, the maintenance cost of an EV is considered comparatively lower than the normal fuel injected vehicles as they do not possess a fuel operated engine that requires regular maintenance. With improved taxation policies on the electric vehicles abiding by the 2078/79 budget of Nepal, there are added tax benefits to electric vehicle users. The necessity to maintain an environment conscious image, the new buyers are turning towards purchasing more environment friendly vehicles, ultimately the electric vehicles. Being conscious about the increasing pollution levels and vehicle emission, consumers are contributing towards lower carbon emission and pollution control, by reducing the usage of petroleum products.

CONS:
Looking into the negative aspect, the advantages of an electric vehicle are mostly overshadowed by its cons that demotivates a potential EV buyer. The cost of purchasing a fuel injected scooter and an electric scooter are relatively similar, which can create an issue of whether or not to make such an investment in a country like Nepal where the growth prospect is not visibly increasing. The lack of infrastructure such as charging stations, service stations and help centers are scarce in the Nepali market. The drive range is limited to intra-city travels and definitely not for long drive on the highway, especially due to lack of the required infrastructure. The lifespan of an average electric scooter is predicted to be 1 to 3 years according to the batteries and its appliances, with a range of 3000 to 10,000 miles through its lifetime. In the long run, due to gradual reduction in the life of the scooters battery, the longevity usage of the electric scooters are comparatively low. The charging time of EV’s at one’s home can take between 3 to 12 hours to fully charge from 0% to 100%, which can be a time constraint for commuters. Thus, the decision to purchase an electric vehicle highly depends upon a buyer's capability to fully devote their time, money, infrastructure and dedication towards maintaining a green identity

TVS Ntorq 125 RE: User Review

With over 50,000 unit sales in the year of 2021, the TVS Ntorq 125 has had a remarkable presence in the market. To justify the power, strength and the preference of this over the others, we have curated a 6 month user review of the TVS Ntorq 125 Race Edition (RE).

Miss Annie Shrestha from Gokarna, is Nepali Wheels first user review guest. We had an amazing conversation about this scooter where Miss Shrestha was able to enlighten us with her knowledge and experience with the scooter.

Power, Looks and it's easy riding experience are the three major factors that have been able to captivate the interest of Ntorq’s buyers. Miss Shrestha has been a loyal customer to TVS for over 2 years and she trusts the company and the product it launches. Therefore, it influenced her to purchase this scooter over the other competing scooters of the segment.

Fuel Injection being the highlight of this scooter, our user has ampel knowledge on this attribute of the Ntorq 125 RE. Fuel Injection system engines are popularly known for efficiently using the fuel that runs the system according to its needs. She has been able to apply the benefits of a fuel injected engine present in the Ntorq 125 RE, as it saves her the extra cost of fuel that would have been rather wasted by the engine. Talking about cost savings, the maintenance cost of this scooter is also pocket friendly.

The strength of this scooter has helped Miss Shrestha to travel around places that are geographically challenging for two wheelers. This has been made possible because of the engine’s mindblowing power and the dimensions on which the scooter is built to travel through any off-road terrain.

Miss Shrestha has frequently stressed on how sturdy and powerful this scooter is for the off road riding experience, surprisingly the Ntorq 125 RE is as amazing for daily commuter usage. Fulfilling the basic mobility needs with added power, efficiency and features, this scooter has successfully satisfied all the needs of Miss Shrestha , with everything this scooter has to offer to its users.
